Interactive workshops for young people

A series of three interactive workshops entitled ‘The Holocaust and the Present Day’ was organised by the University of Humanities and Economics in Łódź (AHE), Poland, from December 2025 to March 2026.

More than 100 young adults, including students of political science, journalism, management, and psychology, took part in the activities. The workshops were led by Dr Artur Niedźwiedzki – Dean of the Political Science faculty at AHE, whose expertise supported discussions on the historical legacy of the Holocaust and its relevance to contemporary social and political challenges.

Through source analysis, group discussions, and a UN debate simulation, participants explored issues such as antisemitism, human rights, disinformation, and hate speech. The workshops encouraged critical thinking, dialogue, and active civic engagement, while empowering young people to recognise and challenge prejudice and misinformation in their everyday lives.

I thought I knew the basics of the Holocaust, but the workshop showed me how the persecution escalated step by step. The sentence ‘Auschwitz didn’t fall from the sky’ now feels painfully concrete.
